Jaanuu Reusable Antimicrobial Finished Face Mask review
As we all know that the world we live in today isn’t the same since the WHO have declared the COVID-19 to be a pandemic. And the new norms recommend wearing a face mask.
I thought I would try the Reusable Antimicrobial Face Mask by Jaanuu, mainly because it’s a company that makes scrubs. And also because I thought the antimicrobial technology was pretty cool.
I’ve had the mask for about two weeks now, so I thought I should write a review.
The Cost
This mask is sold in a set of five for $25, and comes in a variety of some interesting colors. I got 1 pack in the adult size, but they also have a smaller version of the Face mask for kids.
The Fabric
They claim that the exterior is made with a soft scrub fabric treated with silvadur antimicrobial technology. This type of fabric treatment should prevent bacterias and mold to form on the fabric. These face masks are not intended to provide antiviral protection. The Jaanuu face masks have not been approved by the US FDA.
I don’t own any scrubs by Jaanuu, but if you are familiar with scrubs in general the exterior feels exactly like scrubs. The inside is lined with a cotton fabric, which is nice and soft on the skin.
The ear loops are quite short but it works with the shape of the mask. The fabric ends closer to your ears, which causes little to no tension to the ear. In other words the ear loops fits comfortably. I hope it makes sense.
The Fit
The mask fits nicely on the face. Not too loose, not to tight.
I wear glasses, and the issue I often have with surgical mask is that my glasses fogs up every time I exhale. I know its pretty annoying. But I don’t have that problem with this mask. (I am aware that these mask don’t serve the same purpose.)
Now lets get into what’s really important
The Breathing
I know wearing a mask isn’t supposed to feel comfortable. I did have to wear an N95 for an extended period of time as an intern but that’s another story.
The very first time I wore Jaanuu face mask it was extremely hard to breathe. Every time I inhale the mask just comes in as if it was coming in along with the air. So it was difficult to breath in this mask. But after, it was little easier to breathe the second time I wore the jaanuu reusable face mask. I’m not sure of what made the difference.

I’m not an expert, but I think that adding a material that would add more structure to the mask. Some thing that would help the mask keep a certain shape. It would definitely help with the breathing problem.
My final thoughts
The Jaanuu reusable antimicrobial face mask is a good mask for its category.
